Our Story
Hi, my name is Harry Harmon. I am the owner of American Tree Care LLC located in Berkley Massachusetts. From the time I was young, I was always interested in the outdoors and working with my hands. Growing up around farm equipment and helping my Dad with firewood, I developed a love for working and learned that taking pride in what you do goes a long way. When deciding where to go to college I had a few possible ideas of professions I would like to pursue. One was forestry and the other was arboriculture. I ultimately decided that I would like to go to the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to major in arboriculture. In 2018 I graduated from Stockbridge with an Associates Degree in Arboriculture and Community Forestry, in 2020 I graduated from UMass with a Bachelors Degree in Urban Forestry.
In 2017, through my Stockbridge Internship I started working for a reputable local company in my area. Starting as a groundie for the company I was taught a lot by the other employees about the fundamentals of tree work. Along with this I was given the opportunity to climb trees for pruning and removals. I began to pick up more skills and excel at climbing and rigging. After awhile, family and family friends began to wonder if I could take down or prune trees for them. I began to take on these jobs and hone my skills even more. As time went on the jobs became bigger, I graduated from the Stockbridge program and decided that I would open my own small business so I formed an LLC and went through the process of getting insurance. From here the business has been a full-service tree company taking on jobs such as tree removals, pruning, tree planting, and much more. Over the years I have created a business built on honesty, customer service, and proper tree care techniques because I believe that a handshake is still worth something and skilled trades need to be kept alive.
